Martin was born in London and first picked up a camera at the age of fifteen. He worked with several brands of camera including Praktica, Olympus and Canon. In his late teens, his father converted a space, in the family home, into a darkroom. He’d often go out early in the morning, run off a couple of rolls of film and then develop and print, with the help of his father, in the afternoon. They both found the process most rewarding.
In the 1980’s he was fortunate, through a chance encounter, to cover several music award ceremonies capturing many well-known celebrities including Freddie Mercury, Elton John, George Michael, etc.
Martin now works in digital format (mainly Nikon with a variety if lenses). He has travelled extensively across the UK and to many countries throughout the world. His photographic images have been exhibited in the UK and published in magazines, newspapers and used as CD covers. Martin has lived in far West Cornwall since 2001. He has a small studio and exhibition space at Tremorran & The Angel. He can often be spotted along the coastline, with a tripod on his shoulder, capturing the South West coastline!
